Large Antique Jet Black Bureau

This charming antique bureau is well made from solid oak and features a stunning, rare serpentine shape. Believed to be dated back to c.1800.

The original and heavy, ornate brass handles and escutcheons have been cleaned and polished back to their original finish.

The drop down desk is both large and practical for regular use and houses thirteen varied sized drawers for storage with three pigeon holes. (The top surface of the bureau is ideal for placing a monitor screen).

There is a stationary drawer just under the writing desk and three deep sized drawers all in a good rustic condition. The second drawer lock has been removed at some point. 

Refinished to a high standard with a good quality furniture paint in jet black. The interior has been painted in a light grey for a striking contrast. A little gold has been applied around the edges and details.

This beautiful piece is solidly joined and robust and in great condition for its very old age! Comes complete with locks and three original keys.
